Transitions

So this week we are on voluntary lockdown. Last week he was so happy and going with the flow, I went ahead and went to the women's bible study at church, and out shopping one day. This week I think the idea that his whole world got turned upside-down sort of attacked him, and we've had a few melt-downs (where he's lying on the floor screaming and won't let you touch him or distract him with even favorite toys). Fortunately, they don't last very long, and he'll let you pick him up and comfort him, and then he's his little happy self again after a few minutes. But they occur randomly and without warning or inciting event, which is super fun. So this week we're just hanging out, the two of us (and Daddy, when he's home from work, which is always a favorite time of the day!). Trying to establish routine and make him comfortable and familiar with his new home and surroundings.

Could be these meltdowns are just because he's almost two, and that's what two year olds do. Could be it's because he skipped his nap on Sunday afternoon. (They were most frequent on Monday.) Could be he just figured out this isn't Kansas anymore, Toto. Could be, and in my opinion, probably is, a combination of all of them. But he's still generally a happy smiley curious little boy, and we are still thrilled to have him home!

So this is the part where I stun you with his unbelievable cuteness!

Smile!

Lots of Hair.

Stick that little tongue out!

Talkin' on the phone.
One of his favorite hobbies.
