Christmas Recap

Busy Busy Busy.  We had Christmas with John's immediate family on the 23rd, followed by Christmas with John's extended family on the 24th, and then Christmas with just our little family here on the 25th.   Sadly, we did not go to the Homeland to see my family this year for Christmas, but we were able to Skype with them for a little bit on Christmas at least.

Also, it is notable, that my living room currently appears as though a toy store has exploded in here.

Isaac had a blast, as expected.  One morning we were getting ready to go to work/daycare and he asked if we were going bye-bye.  Yes, I said, we are going to play with Will.  (His buddy from daycare.)  He said "No play Will.  I wanna play Presents!!"  haha.  Such a little silly.

He was a little helper at the parties, happily delivering presents to the rightful owners (and often helping them open them as well).   Just be careful, if he opens it, he thinks it's his.  He's not picky about what it is.  He will take it off your hands if you are not paying attention.  :)

So now back to the grind.  Sort of.  We had 3 appts on Monday, at various doctors, in various cities, for various people.  We have a lot of wedding excitement going on this week, since Aunt KC and Nearly-Uncle Jason's wedding is this Friday night, and therefore John's family is in town this week, so we've been doing a bit of extra visiting.  And John and I still work this week as well.

Busy, but fun.  :)  I suppose we'll miss it when it's all over.

And then we'll take a nap.

Here are some pictures of the action:

Til He Appeared, and My Soul Felt its Worth

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Loads of Fun

Isaac got this wheelbarrow for "Thanksmas" from Grandma and Grandpa W.

He apparently thought it was for sitting in.

I could not convince him otherwise... until one day he was climing in and it fell over and he bonked his head on the wall.

Maybe now it'll be used for toys and miscellany.
Hopefully.

Spoiler Alert

We tried Isaac's tux on today.
(It's for Aunt KC's wedding on New Years' Eve!)

I'd say he looks pretty ok in it.  :)

Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

Since we have recently had the opportunity to inform our families in person, we are excited to announce that we are "paper-pregnant" with Baby Brother!

Our dossier was approved on November 29, and we are currently #56 on the wait list with Holt International, and are hoping to adopt a younger brother for Isaac!

Isaac and I pray every night for "Baby Brother" but I think he has no idea what lies in store.  Currently if any other child comes near me, he attaches himself to my leg and announces "MY Mommy!"  haha.  Oh, the fun...

A Little Birdie Told me

My family teaches Isaac weird things.  As evidenced here:
