Some Things Excitingly Miscellaneous
1. In just a few days, we are headed to the Homefront! Woohoo!
Isaac will get to meet my dad for the first time, as well as my youngest brother, my grandma and my aunt. And he can see the baby lambs (yay!), and allegedly lots of snow (boo)!
2. I ordered these blocks for my kitchen from Etsy (a website to buy and sell handmade items):

I can't wait til they get here!
And, proceeds go toward humanitarian aid in her Ethiopian daughter's hometown.
How cool is that?

3. I've been reading these books:
and
and they have lots of good information, but... turns out that Isaac isn't really showing any of the behaviors they talk about! He is a (resilient and) studly little boy!
4. Our friends Nate and Shanna are leaving Friday to pick up their baby Levi in Ethiopia! Have a great trip, guys!
5. We got Isaac's announcements ordered, and I can't wait to see them and send them out! (Stay tuned for pics!)
6. Isaac's nose is getting less runny! Well, maybe. He slept better last night at least. It's a start!
7. I'm going home! Yahoo!

One More Day
Isaac is a little snot factory lately.

However, in spite of the superabundant secretions,

He produces paramount preciousness.
Thanks Alida for the cute outfit! :)

Happy Happy Birthday!
Isaac turned 2 today!

So. You are wondering why there is a 1 on that cake, yes?
Well, it was Yogi's birthday last weekend, and we celebrated then too!

Love this kid. And his scrunchie li'l nose. :)
Isaac's cake is the one that looks like a present.
(It has a 2 on the other corner that you can't see in this picture.)
He liked it very much.

So did Yogi.

We celebrated again this weekend with John's family.
So... Isaac got cake again!

Lucky boy!
And in order to instill in him a keen sense of materialism,
we got him some presents.

Took him a bit to figure out the game, but ripping the paper was pretty fun once he got the hang of it!

So Happy 2nd Birthday, my little Isaac!
We love you to bits!

Cousins!
Last weekend my brother and SIL came with their lil' boys for a visit, and to meet Isaac! It was so much fun, and they had lots of fun playing together. (Well, as much fun as you can have when you have a fever- both their boys woke up with fevers Sunday morning!)

We were trying to get a picture of the grandbabies, and on the first run, came up with this:
I find it humorous.
And I wish pictures had sound.
(Sound you could turn off, of course.)
But let me state the obvious: This one would be loud.
Later on, we got these:

English Lesson No. 1: "Bwiss"
And the Obligatory Cuteness, Which I Shall Not Withhold:

And now back to the lessons:
Bwiss is the Isaac version of Please.
He is very good at Please.
Especially when he knows he'll get food if he says it.
And thanks again to Emily for yet another awesome pic!

Ok, so this picture is pretty much terrible, but a good part of the day was spent playing like this.

Another Day in Paradise.
This picture of the day thing is harder than it seems like it should be. Partly because he stops what he is doing whenever I bust out the camera. For instance, today he kept playing on the treadmill (it was not on of course), so I get out the camera, and this is the picture I got:

And this one is from the weekend.
Taking the puzzle apart:

This required much concentration.
I was so productive today, however, that I went running (while the treadmill was on!) and I managed to avoid sudden exercise-induced death, I got the room set up and the beds made for when my brother and SIL come this weekend with their boys (yay!) AND Stanley got a haircut and a bath. I do this myself, and I am terrible at it. But this time, he looks less like he's got a bad case of the Mange than usual. So, I consider this a success.

Tho now that I look at him, his face is lopsided.
Hmmm... Must be the Mange.

This Much Cuteness Should Be Illegal
Today was a fun day... Jana and her trio of dream-children came over to play! I think we learned that Isaac needs some siblings so that he can learn to share. He definitely preferred whatever toy anyone else had in their hand! (Guess we'll be working on that.) :/
Anyway, Jana is a budding photographer, and she took a couple of super-awesome pictures of my super-cute babe! Check these puppies out:

New Stats, A Picture, and Other Grandma-liciousness
Yesterday when we were at the doctor's office, (chillin' with my coworkers) I had them weigh and measure him.
So, at 23 months:
Height: 34 inches (+.75 inches)
Weight: 26 lb 10 oz (+10 oz)
Not bad changes for about 3 weeks!
He's still between the 25th and 50th percentiles, but is closer to the 50th now, particularly in height!

Hello?

Stuck!
(The bean bag just sort of mooshes underneath him, and he couldn't get anywhere)

Let it Snow! (Only Because I Can't Make It Stop.)
Actually, I hate snow. Unless it's Christmas Eve, and my family is already gathered. Then it can melt again on the 26th and be 70 degrees for the entire rest of the year. Yeah, this totally happens for me.
So last night I went to sleep with visions of walks with a stroller down to the end of the cul-de-sac on a crisp sunny winter day dancing in my head. And woke up to... a few inches of snow. Great. So instead of our walk, we waited til Daddy got home from work, and we tried out the toboggan! We hadn't had Isaac out in the snow yet to play. In fact, he's barely been outside at all except for going to or from the car, and an occasional jaunt to the mailbox.

The First of February
I just realized that today is February! Of course, I also thought it was Thursday all day last week when it was really Friday. So whatever.
Today Isaac found one of John's hats and was wearing it around. So cute!

I think this look is hilarious. Like a farmer talking about the markets.
And he's none too impressed.
Later we put together the umbrella stroller, and decided to take it for a spin around the house. First I thought he was going to be afraid of it, as is his usual response to anything loud, fast, or new. But he loved it! We cruised around the house for quite a while (tomorrow we'll have to cruise down the cul-de-sac if it's warm enough!) and then finally I convinced him it was the baby's turn. So he took the baby for a ride in the "Beep."

At this stage of the game, his vision was rather impaired,
and he promptly ran into the wall.
