Pictures

So I realized a while back that I have taken exactly zero pictures this month, excepting the giveaway drawing ones.  Which is why I've posted nothing.  My March folder is plum empty.  Oops!

Today I remedied that, to some extent.  I was taking pictures of Isaac's school projects.  (That way I don't feel guilty throwing the actual projects away when I get sick of them littering my countertops.)  Here are the latest couple.

The Snake:   ("Snake says Ssssssssssss!")

Doubles as "My Nackwiss:"

And apparently wants to cuddle.

These, I thought, were Cupid and a Leprechaun.
I was informed, however, that they were in fact "Butterfwies"

 Also a telescope.

And a horn:

"Woooooooooooooooo!"

 This is my boy.
He is cute.
And getting less sick than he has been the last couple days.
(Yay!)

And the Winner Is...

We put all (three) of your names in the bowl,

And Isaac drew

And the winner is...

Ok, so it's a little over-exposed, and you can't really read it at all.
(Try tipping the screen a little.  Then you can see there are letters at least.)
You'll just have to trust me.

Lucky for me, I know where to find you,
so I'll get your loot to you soon.  :)

And thanks to those who entered.

Giveaway Revisited.

We are changing up the giveaway.

All you have to do is leave a comment to enter.

You still get extra entries for supporting any of the previously listed causes, but since no one has yet done that and come back to comment about it, I'm gonna just beg people to enter change the rules.

Leave me a comment!  I'd love to hear from you.  And maybe you'll get a good read out of the deal.  (I mean the book.  Not this blog.  Obviously.)

No Darks

I told Isaac he would need to go pick some jammies pretty soon.  He did not love this idea, and ran to the window, trying to judge for himself if nighttime was indeed approaching.

Apparently unimpressed with his findings, he points his little finger, and puts on his stern face.

"No Darks!"  he demands to the skies.  "No Darks."

We'll know soon enough if it worked...

Giveaway! (edited)

So, I'm going to try my hand at a Giveaway!

This is the prize:

A brand spankin' new copy of the book Priceless, by Tom Davis.
Which is good.   I read it.  (Not this copy.  Like I said.  This one's new.)

Here are ways to enter.

1.  Support someone's adoption.
I suggest sponsoring a pair of shoes HERE to bring "B" home.
or buying some coffee HERE to bring home baby #2.
If you know someone adopting, see if they are fundraising and give them a boost!

2.  Sponsor a child.
(see the agencies below for ideas)

3.  Help Stop Child Trafficking, Starvation, and Preventable Deaths.
Donate (any amount) to your favorite Children's Charity.
Just to get you thinking:
the list goes on...

THEN...
come here and comment to tell me that you did!
(Or, do them all, and get an entry for each one!)

4.  Since the giveaway is half over and not a single person has entered (nothing like feelin' popular!)...
now you can just leave a comment to enter.
I feel that I really don't need two copies of this book just for myself.
(You still get extra entries for any of the above causes you support.)

You have one week.  The contest closes at midnight on Saturday, March 19.
Winner will be announced on Sunday.
(I'll let Isaac draw!)

Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

I love this Picture

I'm finally getting around to printing pictures (of the last 6 months or so... guess I got a tish bit behind) and came across this picture. It is sort of old, and I feel I never appreciated it thoroughly when it was new.  But I am appreciating it now.  In fact, it might have just become one of my faves.

Slacking.

Please excuse my lack of posts lately.  Not much of interest has been going on.

I could bore you with details of Ethiopian adoption drama, but if you are involved in ET adoption, you already know, and if you are not, then you likely don't care.  The bottom line is: No one knows what is going on, but various entities are trying to find out, and they will let us know when they know something.  Until then, I will just choose to believe everything is hunky-dory and moving along as smoothly as international adoption ever does.

Isaac is finally sleeping a little better in his New Room.  (Up til now, he changed his regular 8P-7A sleeping schedule to about 930P-530A, which really showed about 530 or 6pm when he turned into a grouchy little bear, complete with screaming and throwing of tired little self onto the floor for any number of reasons.)  This morning he slept until about 7!  And he's been getting to sleep faster/sooner lately too, which is nice.  Change is hard, I guess, even though he was pretty excited about his New Room in the first place.

Finally... Happy Happy Birthday to my Mom, and my Sister, who were both born on this day, but strangely, in different years!  :)

That's it.  Hope you weren't looking for inspiration or enlightenment today.
On the bright side, at least the weather is nice here.  :)

The Boss

A little bit ago I was telling Isaac to put his toys away.  This was taking a fair bit of reminding, as he kept getting distracted by various toys.  Apparently he did not love all the reminding, and suddenly declared,
"Stop being a boss.  I the boss."
And a moment later, knowing bedtime was not far away, added,
"I not go nah-night."

I had to catch myself from laughing out loud so that I could remind him,
straight-faced,
that I am, in fact the boss.

3 is going to be a riot.

(And yes, all the toys are put away.  And yes, he is getting ready for bed right now.
See, Isaac?  I AM still the boss.)
