Weekend Get-Away

This weekend we took a jaunt up to the North with John's family. His sister and her fam came out from Far West of Here, and Isaac got to meet his little cousin Lilly!

I was neglectful of taking pictures, but here is one of John's family:

And here is Isaac and Grandma headed to the swings:

And swinging!
Weeeeeeee!

Sprinkler

Last weekend, the Nephews came for a visit.
We got out the sprinkler.
However, the water was very cold.

So first they had to think about it for a bit.

And discuss a plan of action.

But they do love water.
So eventually they had to go in.

And later took a quick pitstop in the "Beebox."

Scooterific

So I make Isaac sit down to eat.
I feel that he is less likely to choke if he is not running all around whilst ingesting sustenance, and furthermore,
I theorize that fewer crumbs all be strewn about under these circumstances.

However, not being one to miss out on any excitement,
(and sitting still not being terribly exciting),
he has come to utilize "scooting" as a form of transportation.
He never stops sitting (his bottom never leaves the floor),
he just scoots all over the place while sitting.

Very tricky, this one.

Exercise, Exercise, Wiggle My Toes

(Nathaniel, do you remember when you told me that was naughty to say? Hahahaha.)

Anyway, for the rest of my 3 loyal bloggies, here is a slightly aged but still fun video if Isaac doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred with me (Ok, so I stopped to record him).

And yes, we are both terribly shredded now, in case you are wondering.

Impending Verbosity: Phase 3

I fully admit my inattentiveness in recording every new word. He learns them very fast, and I don't really devote many hours per day to keeping track of what words he now uses. So, here are the ones I think of off hand (and some might actually not be that new, and might have been on the last list. So whatever...

firk (fork)
peoon (spoon)
wetggo (let go)
mine (not new, but very very frequent. Also, "My." My firetruck. My mommy. My elbow. My pretty. My shoes. My hair. My airplane. And so forth. Turns out this boy has a great many belongings. Including adjectives.)
kichen/chichen (chicken)
kichen (kitchen)
beekie (blankie; also, pillow)
peddo (pillow, unless it's lumped in collectively with "beekie")
cherr (chair)
bana (banana)
ouchie
butter (better)
lalu (love you)
Weevi (Levi- a friend)
Woe (Will- another friend, one at daycare)
eemoe, or eemoah (oatmeal)
cerro(cereal)
beebox (sandbox)
my turn (Also, "Jamie's turn." But I don't know any Jamies. So maybe there is one at daycare who likes to take turns???)
dershway (This way)
I got you!
I'm ok. (after he fell down)
You ok, Mommy? (I had coughed once.)
Mimmin (Swimming)
Putho (Puzzle. Also, the Potato Head.)
Huvy (Heavy)
Tannaey (Stanley)
Nack (Snack)
Quia (Quiet)
Sweepy (Sleepy. He'll admit that he's sleepy, but is emphatically Anti-NahNye)
DonChers (downstairs)
Feeker (finger)
Ah Butter (All Better)
Toys
ChooChwain (Choo-Train)

and many many others I am forgetting, I am sure.
I'll add them if I think of any.

And in other news:
He has some sort of specialized radar for airplanes, and can hear/see them from ridiculously far off.

Next time I'll try and get a picture of my dapper and newly-haircutted boy. :)

Big Boy

Isaac has had a bit of a stomach issue of late, and we brought him to the doctor on Wednesday. It was also time for his regular check up, so we just did that too while we were there.

He is getting big! He is 29.5 pounds, and 36 inches. (Right at 50%iles for both!)

The doctor was very impressed with his verbal aptitude. He figgers I got me one smart cookie. :)

Also, he had to get blood drawn again (boo.) Tho I think the sight of blood was at least as hard on him as the needle part. He freaked out when he saw his arm was bleeding afterwards.

He also got 2 shots (rough day, i know.) I was in the other room at this point, seeing my own patients quick-a-minute, but don't worry, he was in good hands with our nurses at the clinic. Anyway, they said he did really good. Cried for about 1 second on the first poke, none on the second poke, and afterwards, when the nurse picked him up to give him a hug, he said "that was fast!" Haha. Such a goof. I think he probably meant that she was trying to hurry and get done or something, because I can't think he has a frame of reference for how long it takes someone to give 2 shots, but anyway, the nurse found that highly amusing.

So, in summary, in case you had forgotten: he is a stud! :)

St. Louis

This past weekend we went to St. Louis, to go to a wedding we weren't invited to. :) Ok, so my sister was singing at it, and didn't want to go alone, so John was her date to the reception and Isaac and I hung out with my old college roommate and her beautiful family! (Tho I didn't take their picture, so you'll just have to take my work on that.)

So here are some pics:
The Arch

There we are!

After the arch, we visited the science center and planetarium.
Isaac and his new pal Reuben liked this, um... space shuttle-car-thing.

Filler and Fluff

Ok, so it's been a while. We are just back from a quick but fun (and exhausting) trip to St. Louis.

My computer has a virus (boo!), and is in the hospital. When it's all healed and home, I'll post some pics.

In the Isaac department, we learned he knows some letters! When we got home from our weekend get-away, there were a couple magnet letters on the floor (because we were so diligent about picking up ALL the toys before we left) and he pointed at the first one and said "G" and then picked up the second one and said "U", and he was right both times! Guess Cookie Monster is the Man!

Also, I will be running Here in the Half Marathon. Feel free to join me. :)

I think that is all my news.

Mmmmm... dip.

Anyone who has eaten with Isaac knows he loves his dip. If he can dip it, he will. Fries in applesauce. Mashed potatoes in ketchup. (Or just spoons full of ketchup if he can..) This particular night, it was breadsticks in marinara sauce. And when the breadsticks were gone... he decided to drink the sauce.

Mmmmmm.
