Thanksgiving

We had a great time in The Homeland for Thanksgiving!
Here is a recap in pictures:

We ate pie.

We opened Thanksmas presents at Great Grandma's house.

Isaac was a big fan of presents.
He helped Great Grandma open hers too.

We bothered Scout the Hamster.

We read books.

 We thought about stuff.

We Skyped with the Jersey Collective.
(Tho you can't really see them in this picture.)

We helped Grandma open her presents too.

A box!
(And then moved on.
Isaac was unencumbered with wonderings of what may be in the box.)

We surprised Grandpa with a new tv!

We all got new pretty quilts from Grandma.

We played Marble Works.  Lots of fun!

We blew bubbles.

We watched the new tv under our snuggly new quilts.

A great time was had by all.
We should really go to the Homeland more often.

Happy Thanksgiving!

How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.  Psalm 31:19

I wish you much thankfulness this day and every day.

Buzz-Year!

My Little Buddy is too cute!
(No bias here.)

And he got some awesome new "Buzz-Year" jammies!

They are so cool.  :)

Too Hot To Handle

Last week at this time, Isaac had a temp just a bit shy of 103.
He was very snuggly that way.  And very hot.
He is much better by now.
(I am just slow about posting pictures.)

Mewzit

The Boy has this thing about smell lately.

"Mewzit, Mommy," he says.
He smells everything.
Food, clothes (both dirty and clean), diapers (both used and unused), shoes, toys, books, you name it.
One day he even laid face-down in a store and started sniffing the floor.

The first few weeks I had my new car, when he first got in, he would say
"Mewzit, Mommy.  Nose owie."
I guess "New Car Smell" is not his favorite scent.

Maybe I should try "Wet diaper" or "Store Floor" next time.

Orphan Sunday- November 7, 2010

"Having heard all of this you may choose to look the other way...
but you may never again say that you did not know."   -William Wilburforce

“If I have denied the desires of the poor
or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,
if I have kept my bread to myself,

not sharing it with the fatherless—

but from my youth I reared them as a father would,
and from my birth I guided the widow—
if I have seen anyone perishing for lack of clothing,
or the needy without garments,
and their hearts did not bless me
for warming them with the fleece from my sheep,
if I have raised my hand against the fatherless,
knowing that I had influence in court,
then let my arm fall from the shoulder,
let it be broken off at the joint.
For I dreaded destruction from God,
and for fear of his splendor I could not do such things."

Houston, We Have a Problem.

It was a very sad day here in the village.
Our local S*nic closed.
In fact, all 3 in the Fort area stores have closed their doors recently.

One day I am happily slurping iced tea with raspberry,
The next day they had vanished without warning.

So sad.

Here is our memorial:
(Complete with my dorkiness for size reference.)

Maybe this will be a good thing for us.
It appears as though we might have had a small Problem.

However, if you are interested in a new business venture,
I would love it if you would consider re-opening the 3 Fort-area S*nic stores.
I still have a $10 gift card.

In Which we Read a Book

So, really, it was a picture book,
and there was no actual reading.
But... nevertheless...

It went like this:

Tiger...
"Roar!"

Lion...
"Roar!"

Zebra...
"Roar!"

Guess we'll keep practicing on that.

Sweet New Ride

So, once upon a time, a few weeks ago, I sold my old wheels to my lil sista...
It was a very formal transaction, as evidenced here.

Now, I cruise in this:
and I look studly doing it.
However, to date, I lack photographic proof of this alleged studliness.
You'll just have to trust me.
