Why Yes, I AM sort of an Idiot. Thank You for Asking.
Once upon a time, I had a video camera. I did not, however have a cord wherein one is enabled to upload a video to a computer. John uploaded our Ethiopia videos, and where the cord evaporated to after that became one of life's greatest mysteries. After very much searching and wondering and asking John many many times what he did with it, I finally ordered a new one online.
The new cord came. There was much Joy.
The package was opened, and it was the wrong cord.
Joy, like the original cord, evaporated.
I wrote to the seller. "You sent me the wrong cord."
He wrote back. "No, I did not. Make sure you are using the cord in the right spot*."
And I, the inept camera owner, stood amazed. I indeed had the correct cord. In fact, I had at least two of this cord the whole time.
And now I have three.
Ahem. Stay tuned for videos.
*In my defense, there no less than 3 inlets on this camera. And that cord most definitely does not work in the more obvious 2 of them.

In Which One Learns that Sarcasm is Not For Small Children
Once upon a Sunday Dinner, we were filling up on warm biscuits before the meal came. Isaac, with his undying devotion to all things dippable, had butter all over his hands biscuit, and was sitting on my lap (he gets a little restless in the high chair for too long) awaiting the arrival of the "real food." So he was getting slobbery biscuit goo and butter from his hands all over my shirt and I (because I am a genius) said "Oh great, Isaac. Yeah. Wipe your hands on my shirt."
So he did.

Oh Beast, How I Love Thee, If Only For Thy Entertainment Value
Once upon a few months ago, I was in my least favorite but most convenient store, which we shall refer to as The Beast. (If you are terribly savvy, the name of the store is actually hidden in plain sight in the second picture, but we won't draw too much attention to that.)
Ahem. I was apparently wandering through the pharmaceutical segment of The Beast, and happened upon this sign.

I do hope that the "Pharmasist" was more knowledgeable about medicine than this chap was about spelling and proper use of quotation marks.
So our Local Beast, having moved everything around so you can no longer find it, attempting something they apparently consider to be progress and not mere nuisance, is planning a celebratory opening.

A "ReGrand Opening."
Yup.
I mean, obviously... Why open again with only the regular amount of grandness
when you can just stay regularly open and be grand all over again?!
That's just what I would do.

Smile?
So I have been experiencing some difficulty, of late, getting the wee one to smile properly on command for a suitable picture. We've tried "Say Mommy! Say Ababa! Say Cheese!" which he does, but it does not produce a noticeable cimling reaction in the region of his mouth. (And now he says "Mommy! Ababa!" whenever the camera aims in his general direction.
Here we go.
Smile, Buddy!

Nice.
Obviously, I should quit my day job and take up photography.
Or children's entertainment.

Bike
Last week at Daycare, they had Bike Day.
Isaac doesn't really ride a bike, but we do have a trike that someone gave us cuz their kids were bigger these days.
Anyway, we decided to test out the trike, and see if would be suitable or not so much.
(He is not really tall enough for this trike.)
Mostly he managed to drift slowly downhill.
We ended up bringing the Musical Fershwuck. The teacher said he was very popular that day, what with the music and all... :)

The Tale of the Grandpa and the Truck
Last night we got a visitor!
My dad was cruisin' through town, and stopped in for the night.
We read some books.
Stop by anytime, Grandpa!

Sand in the Box
We finally got sand in our former Weedbox,
so it could legitimately be called a Sandbox.
We went and tested it out this evening before the latest monsoon hit. :)

Go Cubs?
Once upon a time, we were at the store with the express purpose of spending John's hard-earned cash on something that was not a dire necessity.
Because we had a coupon.
And because it sounded like fun.
So, Isaac picked out this hat himself.
Guess John's gotten to him already.
Go Cubs?

Vegetation
I had virtually no patients scheduled today, so they gave me the day off!
At one point this morning, I was sitting on the couch, with a blanket over my legs, reading a book while Isaac played.
I guess this looked very fun, because Isaac decided to give it a try.
And then, having apparently finished his book, he decided just to relax a bit since I was still reading mine.
And then he peed on the couch.*
Which is precisely what I did NOT do.
So I guess that's where the copying stopped.
* He was really not wanting an "Opper" on this morning, so I put Big Boy pants on him (They had a car on them. It was most exciting.), and we talked frequently about how we needed to go on the potty and not in our Big Boy Pants, and do you need to go Potty right now? And that was his only accident all morning, so I guess that's not too bad.

Swimming, Phase II
So we got smart and invested in a swim diaper.
(Fun Fact: Regular diapers never stop soaking up water until they sag beyond the knees and weigh approximately 30 pounds.)
Also, please note, that since it is just the beginning of summer, and my boy believes himself to be a (hungry) fish, you may be seeing LOTS of swimming pics throughout the next few months. So prepare yourselves. :)
Also, Thanks to all my loyal bloggies who commented/texted/called to help identify this Flower (not weed!) as Sweet William, or Dianthus. You were all right, Loyal Bloggies! You Rule! Give yourselves a pat on the back. :)

Some Pretty Flowers... and Stuff.
Now, for a pop quiz.
Anybody know what this is?
It was a "volunteer" plant in my planter boxes long about last fall, and was green all winter (but didn't grow again til spring) and I moved it to a pot when I planted flowers in my boxes, and now it looks like this. I think it's pretty, but... it's not a weed, is it? I don't want to be growing weeds in pots necessarily, what with the lawn nazi living next door. heh.
Speaking of the Lawn Nazi. I'll have to try and get a picture of his Lawn, in all its glory.
