One Last Summer Day

(So this happened a few weeks ago.  I am really on top of this blogging thing lately.)
One late summer day, the weekend was forecasted to be summer-hot, and we held a personal celebration of those last summery days.

The Pool!
(Don't judge Raya's hair.  Clearly, I was slacking off not finished with it yet.) :)

Gasp!

Ah!  It's cold!

Eli comes to stomp around too.

Which was fun.

But he had important work to get back to.

So they played without him.

Isaac taught Raya to shoot.

Ready... Aim... Fire!!

It was a good day.

And Other Things Random and Resembling Regular Life.

Here's a non-event photo catchup!

We played Balloons.

Ate zucchini from the garden

Had big hair.

Drank some juice.

Borrowed a convertible and took it for a spin.

Petted some ponies.

Talked on the... phone?

Played some game where it involved making a huge mess

Mowed the lawn

Drove the boat.

And drove the boat some more.

Ate some hair goo. (Her favorite part of hair time!)

Generally acted cute and refused to sleep.

That Tooth Fairy is a Busy Lady

So not so long ago, Isaac was spotted looking like this:

Very handsome as always, but suddenly all wonky-toothed.
Both front teeth were very wiggly, and kind of both getting pushed inward towards each other, and just sort of dangling there awkwardly. (sounds pleasant, yes?)

So finally, after much work and coaxing, the first one came out!

So here is the boy, one more tooth down.

Waiting for the tooth fairy!

He actually put the tooth under his pillow this time.  Before he always insisted that it needed to go directly in the trash, since he was (understandably) creeped out by the idea of some strange lady coming to his pillow in the night, money or no.

Anyway.  He decided that this time he was hoping for a quarter, because they are the biggest.
So... she brought him a quarter.

And then within a few days, he looked like this:

And this time, when I asked him what he thought the Tooth Fairy aught to bring, it went like this:
This time I want 2 monies.  Diamonds!
Um... do you mean dimes?!
Yeah.  Dimes.
They're kind of little.  You sure you want dimes?
Yeah.  2 of them.  One for me and one for Eli.
(Awwww.)

He got 2 dimes.  AND a quarter (cuz they're the biggest).
Seriously.  The Tooth Fairy is so generous around here!

And sure enough, the next morning, two excited little boys come running into my room at some freakishly early hour, proclaiming that they had THREE monies!!

And in the end, he gave Eli one dime AND the quarter.
Such a sweetheart.

And already those new teeth are coming right in.
Which makes me sad.  Because I love his lisp!  And his toothless little grin.

Oh, and he's already announced that next time the Tooth Fairy comes, he wants Paper Money!
lol.  Guess he's getting smart about this money thing.  :)

In Which We Road Trip to the North.

Once Upon A Time, in August Ababa's Family went on vacation to the Lake.

And it was fun.
As evidenced here:

A Trip to the Park

The Lake Trampoline

Fishing Adventures

And some misadventure.
This particular misadventure required a trip to the hardware store for some wire cutters,
and finally Uncle Mike got that sticky bugger out of there.
It was traumatic.  But I'm happy to report that he made a quick and full recovery!

Behold:  The S'more
This is a good way to celebrate a full recovery.

This is what happens when you eat the s'more without the "grandma crackers."
I do not recommend this under normal circumstances,
But when you're celebrating hookless toesies, we make exceptions.

(Which he hated, by the way.  He's only smiling because it hasn't started yet.
This was a bummer.  I thought he'd love it!)

Some Reminiscing about the Good Ol' Days.

Sigh.  And then back to reality.
