Adventures in Dental Dispossession

In December,

this guy decided to lose a couple more teeth,
bringing his total to 6!

With the first one, he insisted that the Tooth Fairy was going to bring him "paper money."
So the tooth fairy decided she would go ahead and shell out the whole buck, because she loves this boy.
And by the time I got up the next morning the "paper money" looked like this:

He claimed that he "wanted to share it with everybody" but there were a lot of pieces hidden under his bed, which leads me to believe that he was aware that this might not have been his most wise decision.

So with the next tooth (which happened to be the next day),
the Tooth Fairy got smart (and cheap) and gave him this kind of money:
It was apparently delicious (and not her wisest decision) because then there was chocolate on the sheets, and wrappers under the bed.
Sigh.
The Tooth Fairy cannot win.

In Which We Encounter a Break in Gravity

In a sudden burst of anti-gravity, there have been numerous sightings of Various Flying Objects.

Take Pajama Pants on the Fan, for example.

And Pizza Crust on the Cupboards.

Socks on the Light Fixture.

And Underwear on the Curtains.

This particular display included no less than 8 objects which floated simultaneously to the top of the cupboard in an apparent effort to dislodge the buckets of Halloween candy.

Historically, we have also had trouble with Rampantly Roving Socks.

Such as this guy who thought he'd take a spin in the fire truck.

And this one, who thought he was a dish towel.

Or this guy who wanted to Spin on the Fan (and again defied gravity to do so).
Impressive.

And despite the fact that no one ever seems to know how these adventures came about, I have a feeling there are 2 little boys who might have some influence on this particular bit of gravity...

That Tooth Fairy is a Busy Lady

So not so long ago, Isaac was spotted looking like this:

Very handsome as always, but suddenly all wonky-toothed.
Both front teeth were very wiggly, and kind of both getting pushed inward towards each other, and just sort of dangling there awkwardly. (sounds pleasant, yes?)

So finally, after much work and coaxing, the first one came out!

So here is the boy, one more tooth down.

Waiting for the tooth fairy!

He actually put the tooth under his pillow this time.  Before he always insisted that it needed to go directly in the trash, since he was (understandably) creeped out by the idea of some strange lady coming to his pillow in the night, money or no.

Anyway.  He decided that this time he was hoping for a quarter, because they are the biggest.
So... she brought him a quarter.

And then within a few days, he looked like this:

And this time, when I asked him what he thought the Tooth Fairy aught to bring, it went like this:
This time I want 2 monies.  Diamonds!
Um... do you mean dimes?!
Yeah.  Dimes.
They're kind of little.  You sure you want dimes?
Yeah.  2 of them.  One for me and one for Eli.
(Awwww.)

He got 2 dimes.  AND a quarter (cuz they're the biggest).
Seriously.  The Tooth Fairy is so generous around here!

And sure enough, the next morning, two excited little boys come running into my room at some freakishly early hour, proclaiming that they had THREE monies!!

And in the end, he gave Eli one dime AND the quarter.
Such a sweetheart.

And already those new teeth are coming right in.
Which makes me sad.  Because I love his lisp!  And his toothless little grin.

Oh, and he's already announced that next time the Tooth Fairy comes, he wants Paper Money!
lol.  Guess he's getting smart about this money thing.  :)

In Which We Roadtrip to the East...

We rode with Grandma and Grandpa on the Farm to visit our cousins in Jersey!

Cousins!

Playing in the Sprinker

Making a Mud Hole

Bubbles!

Pretty Flowers.

Cold Drinks on a Hot Day!

Big Brother, Big Helper.

Trip to the Zoo!

Train Ride.

Afternoon at the Park.

Throwing Rocks.

For a Swim at the Lake.

Telling Secrets.

Regaining Energy for Tomorrow's Antics.

4th of July Parade

Apparently he didn't find the parade that entertaining,
and decided that climbing up the electric pole would be more fun.

They did like these guys, but would have preferred driving them for themselves.

A Night of Fireworks

Both the Boys' First Fireworks.

They got 4 Thumbs up!
"Mom, they were a hundred big!" - Isaac.
"Fireworks... Ka-BOOM!!!"  -Eli

And then we had to go back home.

We had so much fun!  Can't wait to do it again.
(Wish they wasn't so far away!)

In Which the Squirt Learns to Ride a Bike.

Once upon a time, on his third birthday, we went on a bike ride.
Having never done it before that day, we stuck around in just the driveway,
and then he decided he was going to ride the trike for real.

So he did.

All the way to the end of our street and back.

Then we decided, since tricycles are lamesauce, to upgrade The Big Brother to a Bigger Bike and bequeath the Little Bike to the Little Brother.

So we did.

Goodbye, Little Bike.

Hello Bigger Bike.
(see how much cooler he is now?)

But unlike the tricycle, Little Brother could not pedal the Little Bike due to his legs being too short and the angles being just all wrong.  This made Little Brother very angry.

So exactly one day later, the tenacious Little Brother knew how to ride the Little Bike.
He still needs a push if he gets stuck at the hot spot where the angles are just all wrong for his legs, but overall, he's doing great!

He's determined, this one.
Watch out world!  If he wants to do something, He Will Do It.
And it's probably best for you if you do not stand in his way...
